Benning Animal HospitalDiane Brosamer, Pampered Pets Assistant and Receptionist

Diane Brosamer came to Benning Animal Hospital from Las Vegas, Nevada. She previously worked at Knott's Berry Farms in California for 10 years before moving to Georgia. Diane has taken pre-vet courses and has worked with a range of animals including reptiles, goats, sheep and birds.

Diane is a certified weight coach through Purina and uses her skills to concentrate on animal weight management. She is also certified in veterinary laser therapy.

At home, Diane has a chihuahua named Zelda, a blue heeler named Apache, and a Siamese mix named Tobias. She and Apache compete in various canine sporting activities including dock diving, obedience training, rally, lure coursing, barn hunts and agility. Diane hopes to try canine tracking someday. She also enjoys camping and hiking.

Benning Animal HospitalChrissy Cook, Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Manager

Originally from Parkertown, NJ, Veterinary Assistant Christina Ann Cook has been at Benning Animal Hospital since 2008. Christina has been in the pet care industry for over 10 years. Her special professional interests include providing care for hospitalized patients and nursing puppies and kittens.

"I love being able to save animals' lives," Christina says. "My favorite part of my job, though, is caring for our very sick babies and helping them become well again."

At home, Chrissy has two pit bulls named Mojo and Loki, a Jack Russell terrier mix named Gizmo, and two domestic short hair cats named Biscuit and Gandalf. She enjoys spending time with her daughter.

Benning Animal HospitalAki Matsuda, Veterinary Assistant

Aki Matsuda is a veterinary assistant who has been with Benning Animal Hospital since July 2009. She began her career in companion animal care in 2006.

When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Aki says that she is able to gain a wide array of experience in animal care, the doctors and owner have a great respect for the staff, and that the hospital has a home-like atmosphere.

Aki has a shepherd mix named Corona, a pit bull mix named Jager and a black Lab mix named Johnny. Her interests include cooking, fishing and hiking.

Benning Animal HospitalDenise Holm, Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Assistant Denise Holm comes to our animal hospital all the way from Seattle, Washington. She has been with Benning Animal Hospital for one year. Before Benning Animal Hospital, Denise worked with Russell County School District. She is currently pursuing a degree in mathematics.

At home, Denise has six dogs: five cavalier king Charles spaniels named Shelby, Tootsie, Elvis, Simon and Hunk; and one boxer named Bobo. In her free time, Denise enjoys conformation dog showing, hiking, spending time with her kids and line dancing.

Benning Animal HospitalLauren Sheeks, Veterinary Assistant

Lauren Sheeks is originally from Harris County, GA and works as a veterinary assistant at Benning Animal Hospital. Her main professional interest is radiology. In 2015, Lauren graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry. She's continuing her education in Columbus.

"I'm so excited about someday becoming a veterinarian," Lauren says.

At home Lauren is the pet parent to a quarter Horse named Caper and a beta fish named Al. In her free time, Lauren enjoys horseback riding, showing her horse, fishing, camping and boating.

Benning Animal HospitalKelly Watkins, Veterinary Assistant

Kelly Watkins comes to Benning Animal Hospital from Opelika, Alabama. She graduated from Jefferson State Community College in 2014 with a degree in veterinary technology. Kelly graduated summa cum laude and is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

At home, Kelly has a mixed-breed dog named Lucky. When not at the hospital, Kelly enjoys watching Auburn University football and Opelika High School football. She is a supporter of several epilepsy foundations.

Benning Animal HospitalTempra Hannagan, Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Assistant Tempra Hannagan is originally from Springfield, Illinois. She holds an Associate Degree of Science in Criminal Justice with certification in Homeland Security.

Tempra has several pets at home, including four dogs (Gracie, Onyx, Striker, Laney), three cats (Oscar, Milo, Ariel), two horses named Rain and Cosmo, and a ball python named Teddy. In her free time she enjoys drawing, painting and horseback riding.
